Enlivening, energetic dance-pop/electric single, “Nothing to Lose,” which peaked at #1 on the Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart, is transfigured with a fresh sound on a new remix EP, out now, featuring five remixes.
VASSY, the multi-platinum Australian singer/songwriter who recorded “Nothing to Lose,” worked with Tiësto, the song’s co-producer, on the 2016 hit.
Now, four years after its original release, VASSY is celebrating her 10-year-long illustrious career with the “Nothing to Lose (Remixes)” EP.
“I’m at a time where I’ve given so much in my 10-year career, this single is special to me after hitting #1 with it, I’ve always wanted to celebrate it with remixes,” VASSY said in a press release. “I discussed it with Tiësto & his label who curated wonderful remixes, and we felt now was the right time to share with my fans.”
The EP features remixes by Lodato, Kue, Kobe Borne & JK West, Gozzi, and Cool Kicks. Tiësto’s label, Musical Freedom, released the EP.
VASSY packs powerful vocals and versatility, and her song styles range from dance to soul to jazz, according to her website. In 2010, VASSY released her debut U.S. single, “History.” In the last decade, she achieved 17 platinum certifications, eight #1 Billboard Singles, two RIAA Gold U.S. Certified Records, number one hits in more than 30 countries, and more than 2 million streams.
This prolific artist’s work appeared in the film trailer for Disney’s “Frozen,” “Admission,” starring Tina Fey and Paul Rudd, and “Cabin in the Woods.” Her music was also used in global television campaigns for Victoria’s Secret, Nike, and Pepsi.
Simultaneously, VASSY rose to become a top act at EDM festivals globally, performing with Tiësto at Tomorrowland in Belgium, which reportedly drew 400,000 people in 2019. She performed at the Electric Zoo Festival in New York City, Stereosonic in Australia and with both Tiësto and Afrojack at Ultra Music Festival in Miami.
VASSY also collaborates with charities, including Playground of Dreams, Carers Australia, Best Buddies, and G’Day Australia, among many others.
In a press release, VASSY credited her lengthy career in the music industry to her authenticity.
“It’s important to remain your authentic self throughout the whole process as much as possible,” VASSY said in a press release. “It’s very difficult, as you do feel pressured along the way and at times secluded, but I think you just have to be true to yourself through the process and not be afraid to be a woman.”
