Here’s what 3 of our Asian food-obsessed editors are loving about Umamicart's subscription boxes:

The Self Proclaimed Chef

Favorite Feature: Versatility

Experience: I enjoy cooking as it helps me destress (not to mention, keeps the wife happy). I’m actually getting really good at it - or so I'd like to believe. I've been subscribed to Umamicart’s Pantry subscription box for the past 3 months and they've never let me down. Normally I’d have to research recipes and then go to the store and get the ingredients needed, but with Umamicart’s subscription box, I’m finding that I’m not seeking out recipes as much, and instead getting inspired by the various sauces & spices that arrive each month. They even include a booklet with detailed descriptions of each item and how to use them, giving me the confidence to try new things rather than relying on a recipe. And on the days where I’m feeling less inspired? Well, there’s no shortage of delicious recipes on Umamicart’s website that will keep you satisfied and putting all those ingredients to good use. My personal favorites - the Fiery Chili Crisp Noodles, and if you’re looking for a quick and easy restaurant-quality dish, the Momofuku Black Pepper Tofu is ready in just 20 minutes and is packed with flavor.

The Adventurous Snacker

Favorite Feature: Bold Flavors

Experience: We've all got that one coworker that is always munching on something crunchy and loud. Well, in this office, it’s me (sorry team). I’m a savory snack queen, and if finding new and exciting chip flavors from around the world was a profession, I would be a maven. From garlic shrimp flavored Doritos, to fiery beef hot pot Lay’s, I’ve tried them all. Only now I don’t have to scour the aisles of all the Asian supermarkets in Lower Manhattan for new snack shipments. With Umamicart’s monthly snack box, I’m getting all my favorites delivered, and discovering some new one’s along the way (Da-Tong Corn Soup Snack, anyone?). Not only that, I’m even expanding my snack palate and have been enjoying - dare I say loving - some of the sweets I’ve been receiving. The convenience of it all is just the icing on the (metaphorical) cake.

The Sweet Tooth

Favorite feature: The Element of Surprise

Experience: I have been subscribed to Umamicart for a couple of months now and I must say, it’s my favorite delivery of the month! I just love receiving packages, it’s like a gift from me to myself, but the excitement I feel when I come home to that purple box is simply unmatched (sorry new shoes). While receiving the package is a thrill on its own, if there’s one thing I enjoy more, it’s digging through my monthly boxes to discover new snacks. I personally have a soft spot for sweets - chocolates, candies, cookies - I don’t discriminate. My absolute favorite from this month’s box was the Toko Matcha cookie rolls. I love matcha so I was especially looking forward to this one. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. My only complaint is that the box wasn’t bigger, but they more than made up for it with a bunch of other tasty treats. One of the things I love about these boxes is that they include samplers of different snacks, so that you can taste test different flavors rather than getting a full-sized bag of, say, one flavor of Kasugai gummies. This month’s sampler included yuzu flavored Kasugai gummies, chocolate orange KitKat, peanut caramel candies, Haw Flakes and ginger chews. Needless to say, I have no regrets signing up for Umamicart’s snack subscription box.
